About VTLWaveNet

The new wholesale division, VTLWaveNet, was launched in February 2007. Combining an advanced fibre optic backbone network with metro fibre reach into major business districts, enables us to offer our customers managed IP and network services direct to their premises with less dependence on local third party suppliers.

In the second phase of Viatel’s group strategy, Viatel will exploit its Next Generation optical networking capabilities and leverage our $1bn+ pan-European network infrastructure.

Through a deal with Global Voice Group Limited, Viatel has enhanced its network reach with metro fibre in 7 European cities. Combine this with the investment of next generation DWDM equipment from Huawei in the European backbone network and you have a powerful portfolio of services for the wholesale market.

A major cost reduction programme over recent years, plus investment in a highly efficient new DWDM network infrastructure, has reduced the network cost to the point where we can deliver services on a cost base amongst the lowest in the industry.
