VTLWaveNet continues its dense reach network strategy

Ahead of attendance at this year’s International Telecoms Week, VTLWaveNet announces 75 plus Points-of-Presence in major Western European countries and still growing.

London, May 14th, VTLWaveNet today announced its plans to continue growth with the addition of more PoPs and data centres in the coming months.  In a period of solid growth, the company has added over 60 new PoPs since May 2007, introducing on average at least one new PoP every month in the past year.  It can now boast over 75 PoPs in key cities in Western Europe with double figures in some core locations, including eleven in Paris, twelve in Frankfurt and thirteen in London.

VTLWaveNet is committed to enhancing its already comprehensive coverage in key locations, based on customer demand, rather than simply expanding the geographical areas in which it operates. This approach ensures that infrastructure is positioned where it is needed, helping customers to save money and enjoy a high capacity service.

Network providers should not only focus on geographical expansion. Opening up the network by adding PoP’s within existing cities is equally important as it is often the last few kilometres that determine the attractiveness of the offered services.

Over the next 12 months we plan to build on these developments by further increasing Metro connectivity and further opening up our network by adding more points of presence. One of these will be based in Equinix, Frankfurt 2, while the other locations will be announced shortly.”
