About Viatel Group

Viatel is a pan-European telecommunications service provider, with a wholly-owned backbone network running through the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy.

The group company Viatel Holding (Bermuda) Limited comprised of two major operating divisions:

VTL (UK) Ltd, a UK Retail Business, providing a comprehensive portfolio of IP and connectivity services to mid sized businesses through direct and indirect sales partners. This business had been successful with growth rates exceeding 35% per annum in aggregate over the past four years. During 2008 this business had become profitable and cash positive and was sold to MDNX Group Ltd in October 2010.

VTLWaveNet, our European Network business, was established in 2007 to leverage our pan European backbone and metro infrastructure. Our network combined with an investment in Next Generation DWDM equipment from Huawei provides us with a strong platform to grow our European business. Revenues in 2008 almost doubled and in 2009 grew by 49%. The customer list is dominated by blue chip carriers and ISPs.

The group is privately held and financed by investors led by Morgan Stanley (New York). Over the past 7 years over $150 million of additional funds have been invested to support the expansion strategy.
