In 2006 Viatel enhanced its network reach with metro fibre in 8 additional European cities and made a multi million dollar investment into the European backbone network with next generation DWDM equipment from Huawei.
Viatel’s new wholesale company, VTLWaveNet, was set-up early in 2007 to exploit the combination of this advanced European network with metro fibre reach, enabling us to offer customers managed IP and network services into the main Data Centres, Carrier Houses and Internet Exhange points.
